Just outside the gate is a path leading to the local Church, and on down to the ford, steam and views over open countryside - ideal for a gentle morning stroll and breath of fresh air ! The Scottish Border is five miles away at Carter Bar, travel Southwards down the Roman Roads to Hadrian's Wall or West along the picturesque toll road to Kielder Water, Europe's largest man made lake with it's Watersports Centre, miles of Forest Trails, Trout Fishing and Boat Trips. Not to be missed is a visit to the welcoming local atmosphere of The Redesdale Arms Hotel at Rochester. |
